No recoil vs aimbot vs wallhack: the real differences
All three usually get filed under one word — "cheating". Technically they are three different jobs, and more importantly they carry three different levels of risk.
Wallhack: reading game memory
A wallhack has to know where the enemy is. That information lives in exactly one place: inside the game's own memory. So a wallhack must attach to the game process and read it.
That is precisely what anti-cheat systems watch for. Any attempt to open a handle to the game process is a loud signal.
Aimbot: reading memory plus driving the crosshair
An aimbot does everything a wallhack does and then goes further: it reads the enemy's coordinates and moves your crosshair onto them. So it carries the wallhack's technical risk plus a second one — inhuman movement.
A human crosshair shakes, overshoots slightly and corrects. An aimbot's is flat and instant. Even when it survives technical detection, that signature is what gives it away in a manual review of a report.
No recoil: mouse movement only
No recoil needs none of that. It does not need to know where the enemy is, because it is not interested in the enemy. It only needs to know which weapon you are holding and what that weapon's pattern looks like — and it has that in advance, not from game memory.
The result is that it never attaches to the game process. It only produces mouse movement at the Windows level.
Side by side
| No recoil | Aimbot | Wallhack | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Attaches to game process | No | Yes | Yes |
| Reads game memory | No | Yes | Yes |
| Modifies game files | No | Usually no | Usually no |
| Advantage gained | Weapon control | Aiming | Information |
| Visible in a replay review | Low | High | High |
So is no recoil safe?
No, and anyone telling you otherwise is overselling. Lower risk is not the same as no risk.
The exposure with no recoil sits elsewhere: behaviour. If your spray is perfectly flat in every single fight, the people you play against notice and report you. That is exactly why a sensible setting beats a maximum one. We go into this in the detection article.

Recoil patterns: why weapon kick is not random
Recoil is not random — it is a fixed pattern you can either memorise or cancel.
Is no recoil detectable? An honest answer
Neither "100% safe" nor "instant ban". The real risk is somewhere else.
What is no recoil, and what does it actually do?
No recoil cancels weapon kick. Here is exactly how — and what it will not do.
